The US task force era began with a decisive victory at Hazeltine.
Following the disappointment of Gleneagles, the USA formed a "Task Force" to overhaul their Ryder Cup approach. It paid off immediately at Hazeltine. Patrick Reed and Rory McIlroy produced one of the greatest singles matches in history, trading blows in an electric atmosphere. Ultimately, the Americans' depth and preparation proved too much, winning 17-11 to reclaim the cup for the first time since 2008.
