Tiger and Charlie Woods Out of 2025 PNC Championship

Citing recovery from back surgery, Tiger Woods confirms that he and Charlie will miss the PNC Championship for the first time since 2019.
For the first time since 2019, golf fans will not see Team Woods tee it up at the Ritz-Carlton Golf Club in Orlando this December.
Tournament officials confirmed on Tuesday that Tiger Woods and his son Charlie will not be competing in the 2025 PNC Championship. The decision comes as the 15-time major champion continues his recovery from back surgery underwent earlier this fall.
Focusing on Recovery
"My rehabilitation is not as fast as I'd like it to be," Woods said in a statement. "I've only recently been cleared to start chipping and putting. It wouldn't be fair to Charlie or the tournament for me to play when I'm not physically where I need to be."
Team Woods finished T5 in 2024 and were runners-up in 2021. Their absence leaves a significant void in the field, which features major champions playing alongside family members.
Field Updates
Taking their place in the 20-team field will be 2019 U.S. Open champion Gary Woodland and his father, Dan, making their tournament debut.
Defending champions Bernhard Langer and his son Jason return to chase yet another title, alongside other notables like Justin Thomas, Nelly Korda, and Annika Sorenstam.
